Budget 2027: What the New Solar and Battery Grants Mean for Irish Solar Installers

Budget 2027 brings welcome news for the Irish solar industry. Homeowners installing solar PV from 6th October can now claim a battery grant of up to €600, on top of the existing SEAI Solar PV grant of up to €1,800. Also, previous installations, who did not have a battery installed, can apply for a battery grant of €600
There's also new support for households that have struggled to afford solar until now. Lower-income households can receive up to €9,000 towards solar and battery systems, and systems for medically vulnerable people will be fully funded. Both schemes cover PV systems up to 4 kWp and batteries up to 5 kWp.
What this means for installers
The busy season just got busier. More jobs mean more admin, including SEAI grant applications and ESB forms.
Don't let chasing missing information or install photos hold up your grant payments.
